Become a Somatic Movement Educator (SME)
My Colleagues at The International Institute for Somatic Movement Education presents a professional training in Somatic Movement Education (leading to the qualification of Somatic Movement Educator).
The vision and purpose of this institute is to graduate students who can enable clients to actualize there full potential as free somas. A free soma means, one who is free to move with ease, without pain and to be able to achieve their goals and purpose free from limitations.
The institute was inaugurated in February 2007 and has been running successful training's throughout the world, including Dublin and India. Take a look at SME training testim
onials, worldwide schedule and other information at Living Somatics
Three 8-day modules of professional training are offered by the institute covering somatology, functional anatomy and kinesiology, somatic philosophy, neurophysiology, the protocols, lessons and techniques of Somatic Movement Education (SME). By the end of the course all educators will be fully competent in teaching their clients to understand the cause of their pain and training them in specific protocols and movements to eradicate them. The next training will take place this year (2010) in Dublin, Ireland. Module 1 is scheduled for 21-24 May & 28-31 May. Module 2 on 29 Oct - 1 Nov & 12-15 Nov. Module 3 during Spring 2011 (exact dates to be announced). Contact us at Somatic Living for further information on this wonderful opportunity.
The whole body of this work is based on the somatic tradition of Thomas Hanna, a student of Moshe Feldenkrais. In the spirit of that tradition the primary focus of this work is to empower clients and students to master their own self-healing capacities.
Somatic Movement Education is not a new approach to treating pain, it is a new understanding as to the causative factors. It is not alternative medicine, it is good science based on simple neurophysiology. It is the missing link between health and disease.
