Discovering Hanna Somatics

After years of striving to find freedom of movement following a serious back and pelvic injury sustained whilst playing professional football, Jonathan Hunt’s discovery and experience of Hanna Somatics brought about a profound healing of himself and others today.

Jonathan achieved Premiership status in a career spanning over a decade. He spent two successful years at Derby County in the Premiership as well as three seasons with Birmingham City, collecting a player of the year and top goal scorer awards along the way.

Quite amazingly, after almost five years away from the game he so dearly loves, Jonathan has restarted his playing career at a semi - professional level for AFC Hornchurch in the Ryman Premier Division. This past season at 37, Jonathan played more games than any other player in his team, he attributes this to using his Somatic exercises on a daily basis. Jonathan is now a fully certified Hanna Somatic Educator, having been trained at the renowned Novato Institute for Somatic Research & Training in California.

Jonathan is very passionate about what he teaches, and loves to share his knowledge and expertise with others searching to overcome unexplained issues with their bodies.

His own experience gives him an insight into, and a compassion for, what his clients are actually going through. He is able to relate to a vast array of the problems he encounters, as he has been there to some degree himself. Jonathan is excited about continuing his work with people who are looking to improve the quality of their lives.

Equine Hanna Somatics (EHS)

Jonathan is excited about continuing his work with people who are looking to overcome issues with their bodies and put them on the path to wellness.

The same techniques can also be applied to horses by way of Equine Hanna Somatics (EHS). Jonathan was one of the first people to be trained in this truly unique method and is currently the only EHS practitioner in England.

Jonathan’s fascination with horses was fostered as a young boy during numerous visits to Newmarket racecourse with his father. Ever since his early flirtation with the equine world, Jonathan has retained a healthy respect for horses, and feels truly blessed at the continued opportunity to share the Equine Hanna Somatic work with horses and their owners.
